Ok, not that I know what I'm talking about, but everything about this photo is amazing to me! Did you take this leaning out of a car?

Sarah, this is what I like to call a "cross-your-fingers-and-wait" kind of shot. I lived in an apartment complex right across the street from Nelson Dorm, and on this evening there was an amazing lightning storm, so I did what any sane photographer would do -- I grabbed my tripod and camera and stood outside in the middle of it all. I took one, maybe two rolls of film, and I actually caught very few bolts of lightning, but this was obviously THE ONE. I was probably shooting 4, 6, 8 and 10-second exposures, mostly 8 I think. Then I would cross my fingers and wait!

Great work! In my wildest dreams, I can never think of capturing a picture like this. This one ranks among your very best.

Suyog, thank you so much -- however, I believe that you could capture something like this!

I tried to post a comment yesterday but it didn't show up, it seems. I was just saying that I remember this shot. I remember when you took it and showed it to me the next day. I loved it then and I love it now!

What is Leaning Tripod?

My photoblog began in early 2005. I am very passionate about photography, but more about 'the eye' of it than the technical side. I love to share my view of the world, and this is the small space where I choose to do just that.
