Moon and star

OK, as an astronomy major I have to say I love this! That might not even be a star, though; might be a planet. Either way, very cool. I'm always trying to take photos of the moon and not doing well, but then that's just photography-illiterate me and my point-and-click...

Yeah, I was wondering if it might be Venus? Just wasn't sure, so I thought I would go with 'star' to be safe. I had taken that other picture of the moon a while back, but it didn't do what this one did. Let me rephrase: I didn't set the camera the same way, so it's really my fault. It's tough getting moon pics!

Funny thing, I was out with the kids yesterday evening and attempted to take a shot at the moon. It was terrible, of course. :) Then I came online today and you'd posted a beautiful pic of the same subject. SOO glad I didn't post my awful shot. hahaha. I love how you captured the star off to the side.

Thanks to Sally-Anne, Sarah, and Amy for the wonderful compliments! But Sarah, I am very sure you could post some lovely pictures of the moon. I want to see them! You have a knack for capturing some great shots, so don't sell yourself short, girl!

What is Leaning Tripod?

My photoblog began in early 2005. I am very passionate about photography, but more about 'the eye' of it than the technical side. I love to share my view of the world, and this is the small space where I choose to do just that.
